Seriusly, is there anyone out there who wouldn’t watch showtime? Not only do they have better and more movie options than HBO, you just can’t beat their series. All too often, though not often enough in my humble opinion, I’m tuning in to Showtime on http://www.directstartv.com/.

My all time, hands down, favorite desparate housewife has to be Nancy Botwin (played by Mary-Louise Parker, whom I absolutely love) from ‘Weeds’. I just caught the season premier where she and her extremely disfunctional family are on the run, yet again, because her middle and insane son, Shane just killed a woman (granted she was threatening their family) with a croquet mallet, thinking nothing of it. Oh, and did I mention she is married to a drug lord and just had his baby?

I also loved the premier of ‘The Big C’ where this mom, living the suburban housewife dream, is diagnosed with cancer. She is unable to tell her selfish, childish husband and ungrateful teenage son and so her only confidants are her doctor and the neighbors dog. I have to admit, the show has promise.

I have yet to catch, but do intent to, their new series ‘Pillars of the Earth’ which is along the lines of ‘The Tudors’ Those who have seen it say it’s amazing. Can’t wait to check it out.
